DAY 1 CHECK-IN TO YOUR BODY
17. 07. 2012
Guide: Gesa Piper
Spot: Happi Centre
Letting all the parts of the body walk.
Introduction to the body and its movement in space.
Exercise 1
Find your sit bones and place your feet under them; put your hands on your tailbone. Stars moving down with your head vertebra by vertebra without moving yout tailbone until you feel you can’t go on without moving the tailbone. Then Put one hand on your stomac over the pubic bone and stay like this for a moment. Then start letting your head and arms hang and move down.
Imagine there is a line between your tailbones and your heals. Then connect the invisible line from the heals to the thumb and the little finger of the legs.
Exercise 2
Rocking side to side and front and back. Purpose – to feel the balance of your body and which side is stronger.
- Sense of movement of the body, how all parts of the body move. Concentration to different body parts. Make one part static to feel the difference.
- Sense of space. Speed of walking. Abilities of the eyes – gives 180 degrees vision. Abilities of the hearing – gives 360 degrees vision. Feel the people around. Feel the space between the people, feel how you should communicate with space. No rules of movement. Do anything you feel like doing as movement. Flocking. Getting consciously out of the space and then getting back into it wherever/whenever it is needed. Being static with reason.
- Outside space/inside space;being inside or outside the space. Being outside but still conscious of it. Integration of the space.
- Being outside of the space and observing it. Being the observer or the observed
- It’s not only you, it’s the whole group of people;
- It is enough to understand 30% of what happens, no need for over-concentration
- All the stuff happen in the mind. Noticing is the action, not the action itself
- The efficiency of the movement is there if you use less muscle
- Move more organically
- Task: observe the movement of the people around
